Inspiring Creativity Through Learner Engagement

Visual Art

Students learn about art history, the diversity of the art world, and the fundamentals of art. The program is designed to give students the opportunity to build a visual vocabulary as a means of self-expression while fostering respect for the art of others. Students will construct two-and three-dimensional artworks, experimenting with a wide range of materials, both traditional and untraditional, such as graphics, sculpting, painting, metalwork, 3D ceramic sculpture, and jewelry to develop art skills and concepts.

Music Production 

Students will learn how to make meaningful connections between school music and the music in their own lives. The program will teach composition and theory skills for beginning students to be successful composers and creators of music. Techniques on use of the software, lesson plans on composition and theory skills, techniques for weaving in music history and how to integrate music of other cultures will be discussed, all highlighted with examples of student compositions.

Mindfulness

Students will learn to develop more personal awareness and  specific strategies to maintain focus and manage their emotions and impulses. And practice over time contributes to their greater health, self-mastery and well-being.

STEAM

Students explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math with interactive, project-based learning using both creativity and relative to real-life thinking, building their problem-solving skills and confidence to tackle the world.

Performing Arts

Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a number of award-winning disciplines. Whether it is theatre, dance, band, orchestra, or choir, students are given the opportunity to express themselves in one of the creative avenues.

Film and Visual Storytelling

Students learn and apply fundamental skills to use a camera and take photographs of animals, people, and landscapes. Students gain an understanding of how photography can be a means of documentation or high art. Students examine photographic careers and explore self-reflection to progress their creative growth as they develop a photographic portfolio.
